Some Ideas for Sharing the Book:
Bean Seed Activity - watch a bean seed sprout and grow over a few weeks.
Plant flower seeds in a pot or plastic cup and grow them in the classroom for Mother's Day.
Present packets of seeds to children to plant in their garden at home.
Start a community garden at your school, club, library, or neighborhood.
Host a reading and food drive to donate to the local food pantry.

It is very rewarding to harvest all the fruits and vegetables from a garden. Dedicated care, time, and patience over the growing season bring a bountiful harvest. When there are more vegetables than you can eat, it is always nice to share with others.
This book brings to mind the local food pantry and how they help meet the needs of our neighbors. Here is a great article by Elizabeth Russell outlining the "20 Items Food Banks Need the Most."
